Fully Alive Community Health is a fully licensed mobile medical clinic, registered as first responders with CAL VOAD and the Emergency Network of Los Angeles in the event of a natural disaster.

Our mission is to provide accessible healthcare to underserved communities and to equip individuals and organizations with faith-based, holistic training for effective disaster response and community development.
We have joined forces with Acts of Mercy International to bring disaster relief and facilitate long-term community development globally.

Meet the team

Clinicians, coordinators, and volunteers who bring decades of experience, and open hearts, to every clinic.

Evelyn Wong, M.D., FACEP
Executive Director & Medical Director
Dr. Evelyn Wong is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with more than 28 years of experience serving patients across Southern California. As Medical Director of our mobile clinic, she leads teams providing medical, dental, vision, and mental health care to underserved communities and disaster-affected areas, including the 2025 LA wildfires.

Cheryl Jang, M.D.
Assistant Medical Director & Disaster Response Consultant
Dr. Cheryl Jang is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who has practiced in Los Angeles and Glendale. She was the first medical director to establish the Glendale Fire Department’s Prehospital Response system and is the current medical director for Acts of Mercy International, serving on disaster relief missions around the globe.

Xochitl (Soh-chee) Flores, PA-C
Director of Operations
Xochitl is a highly skilled practitioner with over 13 years of experience. Before joining our team, she practiced as a family medicine PA for 12 years in the community health setting. She enjoys making personal connections with her patients and working with them toward the best decisions for their health.

Fernando Quezada
Logistics Support
Fernando is trained as a Physician Assistant with over 22 years of experience in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine. He volunteers as Logistics Director and has joined disaster relief trips to Ecuador, Baja California, El Salvador, Mexico, and most recently Maui.

Patty DuPont-Tyler, MSN, CPNP, RN
Nursing Advisor
Patty is trained as a pediatric nurse practitioner and is currently Head of Health Services at a local school district, where she has worked as a school nurse for 22 years. She has served with our team for over a decade as a provider both locally and abroad.

Wendy Fung, PharmD
Consultant Pharmacist & Informatics Specialist
Wendy is a pharmacist with more than 25 years of experience. She spearheaded three pharmacist-run clinics, spent 12 years managing pharmacy logistics for global medical missions across 20+ countries, and is now dedicated to disaster response wherever it’s needed.

Eddie Kao, D.D.S.
Director of Dentistry
Dr. Eddie Kao is a meticulous general dentist with over 20 years of experience and a practice in Tustin, CA. He is passionate about dental missions because he believes it’s important to step away from busy routines to focus on serving and giving back.

Kent Nozaki, O.D.
Director of Optometry
Dr. Nozaki opened his office in Lomita in 1984 and received his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from UC Berkeley. He regularly volunteers vision care throughout Southern California for people experiencing homelessness or without medical insurance.

John & BJ Pace
Logistics Specialists
John joined as a volunteer in 2017 and quickly became a vital asset to our operations. When COVID shut down the medical clinics, John helped with the transition to vaccination clinics and got his wife BJ involved as well. No task is too small for this pair.

Laura Tice, RN, MSN, CPN, NE-BC
Director of Nursing Education
Laura has over a decade of experience as a bedside nurse and nurse leader in pediatric acute care. She has served abroad in Uganda, South Africa, and Madagascar with a focus on public health nursing and building sustainable models of care.

Americares provides global health relief and storm relief. Through their medical outreach program we obtain medicines and medical products to provide primary care and respond to emergencies where care is often out of reach.

AAMS
The Armenian American Medical Society made it possible for us to provide dental and vision services at their community health festival.

Acts of Mercy
For nearly two decades, Acts of Mercy International has been an integral part of the Antioch Movement, responding to global crises while sharing the gospel, making disciples, and establishing churches.

Direct Relief
Direct Relief is the largest charitable medicine program in the United States, active in all 50 states and more than 80 countries. They help us provide medications locally and internationally.

ENLA
Emergency Network Los Angeles enhances the capacity of nonprofits, government agencies, and the private sector in managing emergencies through cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration.

Healing California
Healing California partners with nonprofits and community groups to provide free dental, medical, and vision services, contributing high-quality dental equipment that helps us serve more patients in need.

Maven Project
Maven Project connects our providers digitally with experienced specialists for consultations, mentoring, and education, so patients receive prompt, high-quality specialty care.

Mission Flight
Mission Flight provides free medical, dental, and optical services in underserved or remote areas of California and Mexico, flying clinicians and supplies into areas of acute need at no cost.

Mission Increase
Mission Increase provides coaching that helps us fulfill our God-given mission and increase our Kingdom impact.

Power of Sight
The Power of Sight Foundation partners with nonprofits, community groups, and schools to provide free eye care and eyeglasses.
